Our flight home isn’t until 730pm tonight so we had some time to kill on our last day. We arranged to keep our hotel room until we head to the airport at 4, so we were able to head out this morning and explore a bit more. We had no real set agenda other than to experience HK. There is an area called Lan Kwai Fong which is a party place for Ex pats and 20-somethings. Apparently at night it’s the place to be. 11am was more sedate which is ok by us. I could see why at night this place would be noisy crowded and a place to be seen. We went there because of the restaurants. We had a nice lunch in an air conditioned pub. I can’t imagine Hong Kong in full summer heat. It was a balmy 32 today and still oppressive humidity. In actual summer they say it can get up to 40 degrees plus.
We did find some interesting graffiti though. Small steps to reduce the abuse?
After our last train ride, we returned our Octopus cards and got the stored value plus the deposit refunded. We promptly spent some of that on the tasty buns at the bakery in the station and headed back to our hotel room to shower, change and head to the airport for the long trip home.
China has been a lot of culture and history as well as some excellent food.
Looks like a great trip.
Welcome home.
