We checked out of our beautiful castle hotel this morning and drove the scenic Sky Loop Road on recommendation from the staff.

A local child/artist has set up an honesty box full of painted rocks – we had to purchase one!

From the visitor center in Connemara National Park we hiked up to Diamond Hill and got a great view of the surrounding area.

Kylemore Abbey was originally built as a castle in 1867.

It became home to a community of Benedictine nuns in 1920, making it the oldest of the Irish Benedictine abbeys.

Then it was another scenic drive along the Killary Fjord

Lunch was at The 814 Restaurant at the Delphi Resort with views of Mweelrea mountain, the tallest in the province of Connacht at 814 meters (hence the name of the restaurant).

We ended our day in Sligo at the Riverside Hotel. We should be entertained by swans right beside our room.
